City Attorney
Mission: City Attorney is to provide legal advice, representation and other legal services to the City of Imperial, its Redevelopment Agency, various boards and commissions and officers and employees thereof. The City Attorney also provides representation in judicial and administrative proceedings and prosecutes violations of the Imperial Municipal Code. The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council. The current City Attorney is Dennis Morita. He has served the City since 1983. Mr. Morita is a native of Imperial Valley and began his legal career after graduation from Loyola Law School as a deputy in the offices of the Imperial County Counsel and District Attorney.
