Information Technology Director Alejandro Estrada

R. Alejandro Estrada was appointed Director of Information Technology of the City of Imperial on April 9, 2018. Initially, as IT Service Provider for the Public and Private sectors. Alejandro transitioned into Director of Information Technology four years ago, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional team members to create and execute standards and processes for application selection, development, and implementation. He has delivered solutions and strategies for different sectors, managing all aspects of software development and infrastructure projects, from analysis through implementation, including change management.

Alejandro Estrada holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, also as a Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) and Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA). He has also participated in Cybersecurity training from different organizations, including Cybersecurity from MIT Sloan School of Management. He has more than twenty years of experience managing multiple areas of the IT Enterprise, including Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Help Desk, Application Development, and Application Support. Alejandro has coached, mentored, and built IT teams that are accountable for delivering Information Technology solutions, stable/scalable technology environments, and strategic objectives.

He is currently an active member of the Public Technology Institute (PTI), the Center for Internet Security, the Homeland Security Information Network, CompTIA, MS-ISAC, and other Local, State, and Federal Cybersecurity agencies.

Alejandro has also served as the subject matter expert and team member on lean continuous improvement projects at organizational and departmental levels. In addition, he has collaborated with executive management to contribute to the City’s vision and strategic objectives and participate in IT governance.

 

The Software and Applications division provides a variety of training programs for users on computer software and system use.

Also, participates in the security architecture planning for both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.

The Hardware and Infrastructure division is responsible for deploying, configuring, upgrading, maintaining and troubleshooting the City’s network infrastructure.

In addition, performs repairs on computer systems and peripheral equipment including network printers.
